Leicester striker linked with Saints switch
Leicester's Islam Slimani has been linked with Southampton as loan club Fenerbahce seek to offload the striker.
Slimani joined Fener on loan for the season in the summer but the Algeria international has failed to impress in the Turkish top flight with just one goal in 12 appearances.
The Istanbul club are keen to cancel the loan deal but the Foxes have made it clear they will not allow Fenerbahce to cut the agreement short.
Turkish newspaper Aydin Post say Fener are trying to find a new club for Slimani to join on loan and Southampton have emerged as potential suitors.
Leicester are unlikely to block a move to a Premier League rival as last season Slimani spent the latter half of the campaign on loan at Newcastle, where he managed just four appearances in an injury-hit stint at St James' Park.
