Puel delighted with Pereira impact
Leicester City boss Claude Puel says he is very happy with the recent performances of versatile defender Ricardo Pereira.
Portugal international Pereira worked under Puel at Nice and the duo were reunited in the summer, with the Foxes splashing out a reported 25million euros to acquire his services.
After a tricky start to life at the King Power Stadium, the 25-year-old full-back, who has also been deployed as a winger, appears to have settled into life in England and his recent displays have been eye-catching, to say the least.
Having helped Leicester secure a 1-0 win at Chelsea prior to Christmas, Pereira then scored the winner in the 2-1 home victory over defending English champions Manchester City on Boxing Day.
Speaking about the Lisbon-born star, Puel said: "He's improved a lot. When I had him at Nice he was a left back. He was fantastic on the counter-attack.
"He's had difficulties here to win battles. He's come back strong. In the last six or seven games, he's been excellent in defence and winning battles.
"He's a former winger. He can attack. He can play full-back and on the wing both sides. That's good for him and the team."
