Villa face disappointment over Foxes full-back
Aston Villa's move to sign Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs on loan has been turned down by the Foxes.
Villa boss Dean Smith was hoping to sign the left-back to strengthen his squad for what he hopes will be a promotion push from the Championship in the second half of the season, but Leicester are not open to offers.
Ben Chilwell is City's first-choice defender on the left but Fuchs is the only senior cover so boss Claude Puel wants to keep him at King Power Stadium.
Fuchs has made 117 appearances for the club since joining in 2015 but only one Premier League start this term and is out contract in the summer.
Villa were hoping to take advantage of that situation and sign him on loan now with the view to agreeing a permanent move at the end of the season.
Smith has already signed Kortney Hause and Lovre Kalinic this month but is after more experience as he looks to guide Villa back to the top flight.
