Brewster ready to step up for Reds
Rhian Brewster says he's focused on taking his chance at Liverpool this season after being talked up by boss Jurgen Klopp.
The 19-year-old striker has featured heavily in pre-season so far and has scored three goals for the Reds in warm-up games against Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City.
Klopp has said the youngster is now ready to feature for the first-team regularly and likened the teenager to a new signing after his return to full fitness following a knee injury which affected him last term.
Brewster says he's pleased the boss is ready to put his faith in him and he wants to prove the German coach is right to do so, while he is ready to fill the void left by Daniel Sturridge's recent exit.
Brewster told the Liverpool website: "He has said it quite a few times now and I just want to repay his faith in me. It is alright him saying it but it is for me to go out there and do it. I'm looking forward to doing that.
"Of course it's sad that Daniel has gone but it's a gap for me and hopefully I can fill his big boots. He's not a bad player! Hopefully I can push on this season."
