Bundesliga club hoping to fend off Liverpool for star winger
Bayer Leverkusen CEO Rudi Voller hopes Liverpool target Julian Brandt stays with them, although he admits the winger is a wanted man.
The Bundesliga club remain optimistic of keeping hold of the 23-year-old, who scored his seventh goal of the season in Bayer's 5-1 win at Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
That victory saw Leverkusen leapfrog Borussia Monchengladbach into fourth in the final Bundesliga standings and they can now look forward to competing in the Champions League again next term.
Voller is aware of "requests" for his team's star man, who has been linked to Liverpool for a number of years.
But the former German World Cup winner said: "Julian Brandt has some requests, we know that, and there will be a decision over the next five, six or seven days. We think we have a great chance and we hope he stays."
