Gomez closing in on Reds return
Liverpool defender Joe Gomez faces a race against time to be ready for the Premier League showdown with Tottenham on Sunday.
The 21-year-old has made a welcomed return to training after sitting out almost four months with a broken leg he suffered at the back end of last year.
It remains to be seen if Gomez is fit enough to play some role against Spurs, or whether the defender will be saved for Liverpool's Champions League quarter-final ties against Porto next month.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to be back in full training at Melwood next week and will therefore miss the arrival of Spurs to Anfield this weekend.
Meanwhile, Naby Keita is available while Xherdan Shaqiri and Trent Alexander-Arnold are close to recovering from minor knocks and should feature against Mauricio Pochettino's side.
