Henderson urges Liverpool to retain title belief
Captain Jordan Henderson says Liverpool must 'keep believing' as they bid to secure a first ever Premier League title.
The Reds moved back to the top of the standings thanks to their 2-0 win at Cardiff on Sunday, although rivals City can return to the summit if they claim all three points when they take on Manchester United in their game in hand on Wednesday.
Neither side has given an inch in the title race over recent weeks, with Liverpool having won six league games on the spin and City 10, but, despite not having their destiny in their own hands, Henderson has urged Jurgen Klopp's team to retain their belief that they can claim top-flight glory for the first time since 1990.
"It's a big result for us and we want to keep fighting right until the end, to keep winning games," Henderson told Liverpool's website regarding the victory over Cardiff.
"It was a different type of test for us and I thought we came through it really well. We've got to keep believing, keep our confidence going and win as many games as we can."
Liverpool host bottom club Huddersfield in their next Premier League match on Friday before they round off their domestic season with a trip to Newcastle and an away clash with Wolves.
