Liverpool consider move for Augsburg starlet

20th July 2019, 13:06 by Bobbie Jackson

Liverpool have emerged as contenders to sign Augsburg defender Philipp Max but face competition from Barcelona.

Jurgen Klopp has already admitted that Liverpool are unlikely to do any big business this summer after splashing the cash last season.

Liverpool have focused on bringing in younger players during the off-season, having already wrapped up a deal for Sepp van den Berg, and Max could be following him through the doors at Anfield.

The 25-year-old is reportedly available for around 20million euros and would be drafted in as competition for Andrew Robertson.

But they are in direct competition with European rivals Barcelona and may need to move quickly to wrap up a deal.
