Shaqiri linked with loan exit
Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly pondering a shock loan swoop for Liverpool’s Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Swiss star joined the Reds from Stoke in the summer and, after a slow start when he played just 32 minutes of football until late September, has found his form in recent weeks.
Shaqiri scored his first goal for the club against Cardiff and has also provided assists against Huddersfield and Red Star Belgrade.
With Liverpool looking for titles at both home and abroad this season, Jurgen Klopp is sure to find a use for his versatility as he looks to rotate his preferred front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
However, his situation could change with reports in Turkey suggesting Galatasaray are watching the 27-year-old closely.
Shaqiri could well be tempted with a move away if his circumstances do not change and the Super Lig side are reportedly readying a January loan bid which would come with the carrot of almost guaranteed regular first team football.
Galatasaray's interest is thought to be concrete but a move in the new year still seems highly unlikely, as Liverpool would be expected to block a temporary exit.
