City still in hunt for Foxes ace

19th June 2019, 07:37 by Michael Holland

Manchester City remain in the hunt to sign Leicester City star Ben Chilwell despite talk Angelino could return to the club.

Angelino has been with PSV Eindhoven, who he joined this time last year, but City are said to be considering the possibility of activating a recall clause and bringing him back to provide cover at left-back for Aleks Zinchenko and Benjamin Mendy.

However, reports are rife that City boss Pep Guardiola remains interested in Chilwell and could still attempt to bring him to the Etihad Stadium at some point in the future.

The chances of that happening this summer look remote as he is well covered at left-back for now, but it has been suggested he could make a fresh attempt to sign the England international in January.

That could all depend on how things pan out in the first half of the new season but it still remains an option.

There is a risk another club could nip in and sign Chilwell before then but the Foxes seem determined to keep hold of all of their star players this summer.
