Croatian teenager deal almost done
Hajduk Split have accepted Manchester City's bid for young midfielder Ante Palaversa and he's set to travel for a medical.
Reports in Croatia claim the teenager is on his way to the UK to complete the transfer which came to light earlier this month after City stepped up their scouting of the player.
One of City's top Eastern European spies followed Hajduk on their recent mid-season break to Turkey and the club have wasted no time in securing the agreement of his club.
City made a formal bid of 4.8 million euros (£4.1 million) with a further £1.3 million to follow in bonuses. That would make it a £5.4m deal with Hajduk Split also entitled to 10 per cent of any future transfer fee.
Palaversa is a 'press-resistant' midfielder with a good range of passing and height who has been likened to Real Madrid star Toni Kroos in his playing style.
Reports claim City could loan him back to Hajduk for up to 18 months before promoting him to the first-team squad.
