Oblak deal to prove costly for United
Manchester United will need to play Atletico Madrid £110m if they want Jan Oblak to replace David de Gea in the near future.
The Slovenia international shot-stopper penned a new four-year agreement at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday, with the new massive buyout figure included.
Oblak has been regularly watched by United in recent seasons and has long been seen as having the right credentials to fill the giant void if de Gea were ever to leave Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are increasingly concerned that de Gea is still refusing to sign a new deal and is entering the final year of his contract.
De Gea is said to be holding out for wages closer to £400,000-per-week, with no sign a deal will be reached until United's battle to secure a top-four place in the Premier League is known.
The Spain number one is also desperate to continue playing in the Champions League next season but United are currently on their worst run of form since 2001, having lost five of their last seven games in all competitions.
Atletico chiefs have clearly covered themselves on Oblak, aware of the current stand-off between de Gea and United, athough the Red Devils would certainly still have no trouble improving the 26-year-old's reported new salary of £130,000-per-week.
