Sanchez set to land bonus

29th March 2019, 10:33 by Nick Harris

Manchester United will reportedly pay Alexis Sanchez a £7.5million bonus in July under the terms of his contract.

Reports have suggested the Red Devils could look to offload the Chilean, who has proved an expensive flop since his switch from Arsenal back in January 2018.

That would almost certainly entail the Manchester giants also having to hand Sanchez a massive pay-off to remove his £505,000-per-week wages from their payroll.

United sources have revealed the club agreed to spread Sanchez's £30m signing-on fee over four years and the next £7.5m tranche is due this summer.

They made the South American the highest-paid player in their history when they stole him from under the noses of Manchester City, blowing their neighbours out of the water with the huge financial package on offer.

Sanchez has managed just seven goals during his time at the Theatre of Dreams but it appears the money just keeps rolling in for the former Barcelona star, who could certainly afford to take a financial hit should another club come forward before the start of next season.

The forward is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but was spotted running outside for the first time again at Carrington on Wednesday.
