Toon midfielder subject of Reds bid
Manchester United are ready to launch an £18million bid for Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff as they target their second signing.
United are on the look-out for midfield reinforcements and have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old, who they see as a potential star of the future.
Longstaff only made his senior Magpies debut in December and went on to make 13 appearances before a knee injury curtailed his campaign.
Reports are now rife suggesting that United want to make their second capture of the summer by making a move for Longstaff and hope an offer of £18million will be enough to get it done.
However it may be easier said that done after the player recently committed himself to the Toon.
"I'm massively flattered to have my name even mentioned in those conversations, but I'm 100 per cent focused on Newcastle," he told NUFC TV.
"I've always wanted to play for Newcastle and I've only had a little taste of that.
"So for me, it's about getting fit as soon as I can and getting back on the pitch for Newcastle and making more memories of the future."
