United in talks over Sanchez exit
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says they are in talks with "some clubs" over the sale of forward Alexis Sanchez.
The 30-year-old has been heavily tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer after failing to find his feet following a 2018 move from Arsenal.
United completed a swap deal with the Gunners, which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the opposite direction, but handed over a huge salary to the Chilean to beat rivals Manchester City to his signature.
However, he only managed to net twice in 12 league appearances in the second half of 2017-18, while he scored just once in 20 outings during the following season.
Sanchez has completed 90 minutes just once since the start of last season and is down the pecking order when it comes to opportunities with the Red Devils.
Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James have all featured in the opening two league games, while Sanchez has yet to make an appearance.
Solskjaer has held Sanchez back due to his exploits with Chile at the Copa America over the summer but he did turn out in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday.
Sheffield United made the trip to Carrington for the clash which saw the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian also involved.
Sanchez’s agent is understood to have held talks with Italian outfit Inter Milan, who have already signed Romelu Lukaku from United this summer, and Solskjaer admits they remain open to a sale ahead of the European window closing next month.
Ole: “There are still talks with some clubs. But he played in that game and he played well. As I have said he is working well. Let’s see in September what is going to happen.

Meanwhile, United were reportedly toying with the idea of signing former Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente to provide cover for Rashford.
The veteran Spaniard is no stranger to big clubs, having also represented Juventus, but the latest reports suggest their interest in the free agent is over.
Napoli and Lazio are also understood to be monitoring Llorente’s situation and a return to England looks to be off the table.
