United lodge bid for Fiorentina centre-back
Manchester United have reportedly bid for Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic after growing frustrated in their pursuit of Harry Maguire.
The Red Devils have been chasing Maguire all summer but, as it stands, are not willing to match Leicester's £90million asking price.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to bolster his defensive options before the end of the summer transfer window and Milenkovic, who was a target for former boss Jose Mourinho, is back on the agenda.
United reportedly failed with a £36million bid in January and they are hoping to get their man this time around after returning with a £45million offer.
Milenkovic was a regular for the Viola last season, making 34 Serie A appearances, and Solskjaer clearly feels he is ready for the Premier League, despite his tender age.
The 21-year-old boasts 14 caps for Serbia and featured in all three of their group matches at the 2018 World Cup.
