Young to stay at United for another season
Ashley Young has signed a new one-year deal at Manchester United that will take him into his ninth season with the club.
The 33-year-old full-back joined the Red Devils as a flying winger in 2011 in a £16m raid on Aston Villa engineered by Sir Alex Ferguson.
He has made 25 first-team appearances in all competitions this season and appears to have been the first-choice of both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at right-back, while also getting starts on the left when needed.
Young is the sixth United player to ink new terms this season after Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial and Phil Jones.
During his time at Old Trafford, the ex-Watford man has lifted the Premier League in 2012–13, the FA Cup in 2015–16, the EFL Cup and Europa League in 2016–17 and the FA Community Shield in 2011.
