Alaves snap up Joselu
La Liga outfit Deportivo Alaves have confirmed the signing of Newcastle United striker Joselu.
Alaves, who finished 11th in Spain's top flight last season, have signed Joselu for an undisclosed fee and he becomes the club's eighth summer arrival, joining Lucas Perez, Pere Pons, Luis Rioja, Ramon Mierez, Saul Garcia, Jeando Fuchs and Olivier Verdon at the Mendizorrotza.
The 29-year-old endured a largely disappointing two-year spell on Tyneside, scoring just seven goals from 52 appearances across all competitions after arriving from Stoke City in August 2017.
El Glorioso will be the ninth club of Joselu's career, with the striker having also had spells at Celta Vigo, Real Madrid, Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt, Hannover and Deportivo La Coruna.
The former Spain Under-21 international becomes the third first-team player to leave St James' Park this summer after the previous sale of Ayoze Perez to Leicester City for £30million and Mohamed Diame's free transfer to Al Ahli.
James Mason grew up in Northumberland so is entrenched in both the football and golf scenes. A low handicap golfer, he also follows Newcastle United and predicts big things under Rafa Benitez.
