Dummett ready for Palace scalp

4th April 2019, 15:55 by Tom Hill

Newcastle defender Paul Dummett claim his side are confident of securing Premier League safety when they face Crystal Palace this week.

The Magpies were beaten in their last league outing as they found Arsenal too strong at the Emirates Stadium on Monday.

Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners in London and that result leaves Newcastle on 35 points, seven clear of danger with six games to go.

Rafa Benitez's men take on Palace in their next league outing and Dummett believes his side have enough about them to secure safety this weekend.

He told NUFC TV: "We have been in good form with the wins we've had. We know it will be a difficult game (against Palace) as they have some good players but we'll be ready.

"We had a rest but we will work hard in training. Hopefully we can get that sixth win and make ourselves safe in the Premier League .

"Then we will try to get other results and try to push on and finish strongly like we did last season."
