Gattuso denies Newcastle talk
Gennaro Gattuso has rubbished reports claiming he is in line to take over as Newcastle United's new manager.
Rafael Benitez's contract at St James' Park runs out in the summer and despite leading the club to safety for the second year running, talks have stalled over a new deal for the Spaniard.
Newcastle are still working hard to persuade the former Liverpool boss to pen fresh terms but, if the 59-year-old does walk away, the north-east club are weighing up potential replacements.
AC Milan chief Gattuso has been linked with the position and reports suggested he had met with super agent Jorge Mendes to discuss the possibility of taking charge of the Premier League outfit.
However, the Italian has denied these claims, telling Rai Sport: "These are unfounded rumours."
