Gudelj on Magpies' radar
Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing Serbian midfielder Nemanja Gudelj from Guangzhou Evergrande.
The 27-year-old has been in China since January 2018 but has not enjoyed a good spell with Guangzhou and has only figured 11 times for them.
At the start of last season, he agreed to join Sporting Lisbon on a season-long loan deal and played 27 times in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
It is understood they would like him to return to the club on another season-long loan but will struggle to match other clubs for wages on offer.
Newcastle United are one of those reported by media outlets in Portugal who are interested in his signature, with Rafa Benitez looking to strengthen his midfield.
Mo Diame has already left this summer, while there are question marks over the futures of duo Sean Longstaff and Jonjo Shelvey.
It is thought that Newcastle are willing to offer Gudelj, who has won 22 caps at senior level, around five million euros a year to join the St James' Park club.
They will have to battle for his signature with La Liga side Real Betis, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray also interested.
