Magpies not budging on Longstaff valuation

12th July 2019, 08:37 by Alex Jack

Newcastle United have told Manchester United they will need to spend £50m this summer if they wish to sign Sean Longstaff.

Longstaff has only limited Premier League experience and has not played for England at any age-group level but still the Magpies are standing firm on a £50m valuation.

The north-east outfit appear to be determined to keep hold of one of their rising stars but if they are to part ways with the midfielder then they want to be significantly reimbursed.

With the Red Devils thought to value the Magpies star at around £20m, it looks like United will turn their attentions to other targets this summer, unless something significant changes at St James' Park.
