Magpies steer clear of Kenedy deal
Newcastle United have opted against making Kenedy's loan spell permanent after hearing Chelsea's asking price.
Having impressed during a loan spell at St James' Park in the second half of last season, Kenedy was brought back to Newcastle on a year-long deal for the 2018/19 Premier League campaign.
Unfortunately, this spell has not gone as planned for the 23-year-old Brazilian and he has scored just one goal, back in October, from 23 league appearances.
The winger has not been in the squad for the last three matches but it was thought the Magpies were still looking to pursue a permanent deal if they were quoted an acceptable price.
However, any hopes appear to have been dashed after the Blues reportedly told Newcastle they will have to pay £30million to sign Kenedy, a price that the north-east outfit quickly laughed off.
The Brazilian, who only has just over a year left on his current contract at Chelsea, will return to Stamford Bridge before his long-term future is discussed.
