Milan eye Magpies star
Fabian Schar could be on his way to AC Milan as reports claim transfer talks have already begun with the Newcastle defender.
The Switzerland international only arrived at St James' Park from Deportivo La Coruna last summer in a deal worth £3million but he could be set for a sharp exit.
Schar impressed in the Magpies side, chipping in with four goals from central defence, and his form has not gone unnoticed in Serie A with Milan keen.
The Rossoneri are in the hunt for a new central defender and have been heavily linked with a move for Liverpool's Dejan Lovren, who could be surplus to requirements.
However reports in the Italian press have now confirmed Milan have switched attention to Schar and held talks with his agent over the weekend with a view to agreeing a deal.
It is also claimed that Milan sense an opportunity to strike while Newcastle are something of a rudderless ship following the departure of Rafael Benitez.
