Perez set for summer offers

9th April 2019, 12:59 by Neil Foster

Ayoze Perez is attracting interest from Italian side Napoli and La Liga outfit Real Betis, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has played a full part for Newcastle this season, featuring in all but one of their 33 Premier League games and starting 29.

The former Spain Under-21 forward has bagged six top-flight goals for the Tynesiders to help them to 15th spot in the table - seven points above the dreaded drop zone.

It seems Rafa Benitez's side will still be plying their trade in England's top division once again next term although it remains to be seen if Perez is with them.

The former Tenerife ace is said to be on the radar of Napoli, with Calcio Mercato suggesting that Betis might also look to lure him to Spain at the end of the campaign.

Los Verdiblancos tried to sign the player in the summer of 2018 and are said to be considering another bid in the off-season.

With uncertainty surrounding the ownership of Newcastle, it is unclear what will happen with player recruitment but Perez would not be let go on the cheap.
