Ritchie '100 per cent' happy with Magpies
Matt Ritchie is "enjoying" his time with Newcastle and has no plans to depart the "fantastic club" at any point in the near future.
The 29-year-old Scotland international winger has been a key player in boss Rafael Benitez's plans since he joined from Bournemouth in summer 2016.
Ritchie scored 12 goals in 42 league outings to help the Magpies win the Championship title and seal an immediate return to the Premier League in his first season, before scoring three goals in 35 top-flight outings last term.
There was speculation that Ritchie could leave last summer, but he eventually stayed put and is again a crucial part of Benitez's plans in the Spaniard's wing-back system.
His current five-year deal expires in 2021 and, while he will have to wait until at least the end of the season before any talks about extending that will take place, Ritchie is adamant that his future is on Tyneside.
When asked if he was happy at Newcastle, he told the Northern Echo: "Yeah, 100 per cent. I'm really enjoying it. We're in the thick of a Premier League season, and it's a fantastic club. And (I'm enjoying) the role I'm in, I'm really enjoying it."
