Rondon - We need to be at our best

28th March 2019, 15:16 by Tom Hill

Newcastle United forward Salomon Rondon has urged his team to keep their guard up when they take on Arsenal on Monday night.

The Magpies have only lost one of their last seven Premier League games and some fans are confident they will avoid relegation.

Rafa Benitez's men are seven points clear of the dropzone with seven games remaining, but Rondon insists his side cannot relax.

Newcastle will try to unsettle Arsenal's Champions League ambitions next week and the Venezuelan says his teammates need to be ready for a tough test.

He told the Chronicle: "We still have to go step by step in the table. Arsenal is a difficult game but the main thing for us is to win games at home.

"After that we have to manage games and look to get points away from home. We know Arsenal are a good team.

"We are doing really well and we have to carry on our performances. They are strong and have quality players but we just have to keep playing the way we have been."
