Canaries target Bolton youngster

22nd July 2019, 15:42 by Tom McGarry

Norwich are reportedly on the verge of signing teenage midfielder Dennis Politic from financially-troubled Bolton.

The Canaries have already been busy in the transfer market since earning promotion back to the Premier League, bringing in first-team players such as Josip Drmic and Patrick Roberts, as well as future stars like Aidan Fitzpatrick.

Politic would probably fall into the latter category, as he is just 19 years old and is yet to make a senior appearance for Bolton.

The Romanian did enjoy a successful loan spell with Salford in the National League last season and it appears he has done enough to impress Norwich boss Daniel Farke.

Norwich will be hopeful of concluding a deal for Politic quickly given the financial uncertainty currently surrounding Bolton.

The Trotters have been forced to cancel their last two pre-seasons friendlies and only have seven first-team players on their books due to delays over a proposed takeover of the club.
