McLean hoping injured duo recover soon
Kenny McLean says injuries are inevitable during pre-season but he hopes Norwich duo Ben Godfrey and Louis Thompson recover soon.
The Canaries are preparing for their return to the Premier League next month and kicked off their summer friendly games with a 2-2 draw against Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday.
Thompson suffered a hamstring injury against the German outfit, while Godfrey picked up a worrying ankle injury and had to leave the ground on crutches afterwards.
There has been no official update on how long Norwich expect the duo to be out but there are fears Thompson could be facing up to a month on the sidelines, while Godfrey's setback is thought to be more serious.
McLean says injuries are not what anyone wants but are part and parcel of football, especially during the pre-season period.
He told the club's website: "We could do without injuries and it was a bit of a blow as we've already got defensive injuries, but with Louis and Ben off injured, hopefully they aren't too bad.
"We just need to keep our heads down and keep working away. It happens quite a lot in pre-season as you do a lot of work and your body is just adapting to it again, but hopefully the guys aren't too bad.
"To get everybody fit would be great, but we just need to keep working hard."
Norwich's next pre-season game is against more German opposition when they face Schalke on Friday evening.
