Krueger offers hope to Saints pair
Guido Carrillo and Sofiane Boufal will get the chance to fight for their futures with Southampton, according to chairman Ralph Krueger.
Carrillo and Boufal struggled to impress former boss Mark Hughes on the south coast and were subsequently shipped out on-loan for the 2018-19 season.
Argentine Carrillo agreed to join Spanish side Leganes, while Morocco international Boufal signed on with Celta Vigo.
Following Hughes’ sacking and Ralph Hasenhuttl’s appointment in December, it appears the door has been left open for the pair to earn a second chance at St Mary's.
Krueger admits the new boss is willing to take a look at them next summer, although he insists there will be no guarantees.
"Ralph's going to take a look at them," Krueger said. "There's no 100 percent guarantee that they would be sold in the summer or not. They will come back, and we will re-evaluate them.
"Both players deserve that opportunity and when we feel the time is right to sell, we will sell."
