Pellegrino can’t accept all the blame - Romeu
Oriol Romeu says the Southampton squad must shoulder some blame for their recent run and has backed Mauricio Pellegrino to come good.
Southampton are without a win in eight Premier league outings and they have subsequently slipped to 15th, just two points clear of the bottom three.
The south coast club have only tasted victory on four occasions in the league since Pellegrino’s appointment over the summer and some have already suggested that the Argentinean is under pressure.
However, Romeu insists chopping and changing in the dugout will have a detrimental effect and believes the squad must accept some of the responsibility for their performances.
Romeu said: "We don't like the manager going and there to be constant changes - it doesn't help.
"The ones that are playing are us so we are the ones that have to sort this situation out.
"Of course, the staff, the manager have to correct things and make us play better football. We are the ones that are going to be playing out on the pitch so of course we have to improve and look at what we are not doing right.
"The manager is not the one that is doing everything wrong."
