Saints to switch around coaching set up
Southampton have announced several changes to their coaching set up ahead of the new season.
The club have stated they want to make the changes designed as best as possible to help first-team coach Ralph Hasenhuttl and director of football operations Ross Wilson.
Danny Rohl will retain his place as first team assistant manager while Craig Fleming's role of first-team assistant coach has been turned into a permanent one.
Kelvin Davis will also continue in the same role as Fleming but has also been given the added role of being the link man from the first team to academy to ensure younger players are ready to play senior football.
Former goalkeeper coach Dave Watson has been asked to step up be a third first team assistant coach, meaning Andrew Sparkes will become the new goalkeeper coach.
Alex Gross will continue as head of sports science and will now be supported by Bill Styles, who will take on extra on-pitch duties.
The medical team has also changed with Matthew Banks joining up as a strength and conditioning coach, under changes laid out by high-performance manager Mark Jarvis.
Dr Inigo Sarriegui will also replace Dr Tham Wedatilake in the medical group.
