Ambition the key for Spurs

16th April 2019, 17:48 by Jack Ogalbe

Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has promised his side will play with "ambition" when they take on Manchester City on Wednesday.

The Lilywhites will walk out at the Etihad with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg following a dramatic game at their new ground in which Hugo Lloris saved Sergio Aguero's penalty and Son Heung-min scored the decisive goal after 78 minutes.

Not conceding at home certainly boosts their margin for error but City will be raring to go as they continue to try and chase down the quadruple.

Lloris admits the confidence gained from the first leg will hold his side in good stead and says they have every intention of playing with the same dynamism as last week.

"We made such effort to win this game," he told reporters. "Tomorrow is going to be a different game. It's important to come here with ambition.

"It's important to go step-by-step. We want to enjoy this moment. We are all excited and ready to fight for tomorrow. We all want to play that type of game."
