Pochettino discusses importance of City clash
Mauricio Pochettino believes Tottenham's Champions League clash with Manchester City will 'be one of the most important' of his career.
The first European match at Spurs' new stadium will be the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with City on Tuesday night.
Spurs are bidding to make it through to the semi-finals of Europe's premier club competition for the very first time, while the Champions League also represents their last chance of winning some silverware this season.
City, by contrast, are looking to keep their quadruple hopes alive and Pochettino knows his side are going to face a tough challenge on Tuesday and he is regarding the match as one of the most important of his career.
When asked if Tuesday's game was going to be the biggest of his life, Pochettino told reporters. "Yes. This is going to be one of the most important games.
"For us, it is a bonus to play in the quarter-finals. We are going to try to beat them. The objective is to be in the semi-finals but it is going to be tough because Manchester City are a very good team and we respect them."
Pochettino has also promised his side will try and take the game to City on Tuesday, as he feels an aggressive approach will give them the best chance of gaining a positive result.
"We want to start tomorrow being very aggressive and try to dominate," the Argentine added. "We have had time to prepare for the game."
