Spurs midfielder wanted by Real

12th March 2019, 04:56 by Michael Holland

Tottenham star Christian Eriksen is on the wanted list of Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane returned to the club as manager.

Zidane is back in charge at the Bernabeu just nine months after resigning from the position and he is planning a huge spending spree in the summer.

The return of Zidane is good news in one respect for Spurs, as they will not be pursuing a deal for boss Mauricio Pochettino, but bad in another as Eriksen is on the shopping list.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says Eriksen is a target and has also confirmed former Spurs star Gareth Bale could become available for transfer.

“That may mean difficulties for Gareth Bale, he didn’t get on very well with Zidane, Sergio Ramos will have his authority reinforced,” Balague explained.

“Zidane also wants the likes of Hazard and perhaps even Eriksen to the side. He will get given all the sporting authority and all the things that he suggested last summer that Florentino Perez didn’t want to do, most of them will be done now."
