Spurs set to face fresh rivals for midfield target
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is reportedly pulling Paris Saint-Germain into a summer bidding war with Spurs for Tanguy Ndombele.
Tottenham are understood to be very keen on the 22-year-old France midfielder after seeing a reported £40million offer rejected for him last year.
The Lyon star is on the wanted lists of several top clubs but Spurs are expected to be strong contenders for his signature as Mauricio Pochettino revamps his midfield.
Aulas expects Ndombele, who has made 48 appearances in all competitions for Les Gones this term, scoring twice, will leave the club in the close season.
The Lyon chief has now revealed that the Ligue 1 club have had up to three offers for Ndombele, although French champions PSG have not yet matched the bids submitted by other clubs.
"I am negotiating with the biggest European clubs for Ndombele," Aulas told L'Equipe.
"I'm the one who revived the PSG talks so that they don't feel dismissed. If PSG aligns with the three offers received and Tanguy agrees, it would be nice if he goes there."
PSG must replace want-away star Adrien Rabiot this summer but signed Leandro Paredes in January and should add Ander Herrera when he becomes a free agent next month.
