Barca star hints at Watford stay

16th May 2018, 18:25 by Simon Barlow

Gerard Deulofeu has enjoyed his loan stint at Watford and won't rule out remaining with the club next season.

Still technically a Barcelona player, Deulofeu joined Watford on loan during the January transfer window to get some games and possibly put himself in contention for Spain's World Cup squad.

An injury put paid to his hopes of going to Russia but the young Catalan, who has stated publicly he does not want to return to Barcelona next term, has hinted that he could remain at Vicarage Road next season.

"I have enjoyed it [at Watford]," the winger said. "I have said before that in the summer I will leave Barcelona. I do not know which team I will go to, so let’s see what happens. I have to rest and decide, but of course Watford is one option."

Deulofeu has had loan spells at Everton, Sevilla, and AC Milan as well as Watford.
