Bundesliga club seek permanent Lukebakio deal
Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf are keen to sign loan star Dodi Lukebakio on a permanent deal from Watford.
Lukebakio only joined the Hornets in January from Anderlecht, signing a four-and-a-half year deal, but he failed to force his way into the side and managed just one Premier League appearance in the latter half of last season.
The 21-year-old joined Dusseldorf on loan for the season over the summer and has been a revelation for the Bundesliga strugglers with nine goals in 12 outings - including a hat-trick in a 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich.
Unsurprisingly, the German outfit are now understood to be keen to land Lukebakio on a permanent basis but it remains unclear as to whether or not Watford will be open to offers.
Watford boss Javi Gracia said he was "very pleased" for Lukebakio after his treble against Bayern and the Hornets may be keen to offer the forward another chance in the Premier League if he continues to impress for Dusseldorf.
If the Hornets do decided to cash in on Lukebakio they will make a hefty profit on the Belgian U21 international as they will reportedly demand a fee in the region of 20million euros.
