Deeney unsure over Silva reception
Troy Deeney hopes the Watford fans do not to target former boss Marco Silva when he heads back to the club with Everton on Saturday.
Silva seems set to get a hot reception from the Hornets faithful when he arrives at Vicarage Road with the Blues this weekend after leaving for Merseyside in the summer.
Everton's pursuit of the Portuguese coach was protracted as they first wanted him when they sacked Ronald Koeman just over a year ago, but Watford refused to sanction his exit.
However, the 41-year-old eventually got his wish of a move to Goodison Park in the summer and his acrimonious departure left a bad taste at Vicarage Road, with plenty of the club's fans unhappy with the outcome.
Silva will be expecting a hostile reaction from the crowd but striker Deeney has asked the fans to lay off their former boss - because it will only fire him up if he is targeted.
Deeney told a fans' event organised by the Hornets' Nest: "We'd prefer it if you left him alone. It'll only motivate them more."
