Gracia pays tribute to keeper after Foster stars
Javi Gracia has lauded "Big Ben" Foster's string of saves in Watford's 2-1 home defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper continued the form he had shown against Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town recently, with one save - to deny Leroy Sane early on - arguably being his best of the season.
"Ben Foster was great, it is no surprise to me," said Gracia after the final whistle at Vicarage Road. "When I came to London I thought Big Ben was in the city but, no, he is in Watford for us. He usually does it for us."
The ex-Manchester United and West Brom keeper deservedly took the Watford man-of-the-match award, but was dismayed that his performance did not lead to any points.
"We would have taken a point and it was close," Foster told the club's official website. "Fair play, to go 2-0 down against a world-class side, but we kept going and didn't let our heads drop. I'm proud of them for the effort.
"It's Man City, you know you're going to be on your toes. For any team to get anything against City you need your goalie to have a good game. It wasn't meant to be. City are relentless, they keep going. It's nice to watch, not so much to play against."
