Gracia urges Watford to be more clinical

30th November 2018, 12:31 by Tom Hill

Watford coach Javi Gracia insists his side need to improve in front of goal despite their strong start to the campaign.

Gracia has been pleased with his team's defensive work but he has urged his squad to be more calculated in front of goal.

The Hornets are currently ninth in the Premier League table but Gracia believes his team could be in a better position with some minor improvements up front.

Watford face Leicester City this weekend and Gracia is hoping to see his team take their chances, unlike in their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool last week.

He told the Watford Observer: "It’s not the same playing the next game against Leicester when we played Liverpool. But I think we have kept a good defensive work all season.

"Against Liverpool in the first 45 minutes we did a good job defensively but it wasn’t enough to get a good result because they don’t need many chances to score.

"We will see in the next game but I’m happy with all the players when we speak about defensive work. But we need to take the chances we have because we are creating chances and are not scoring the goals I think we deserve."
