Janmaat targets Watford return
Daryl Janmaat is hoping to make his return to first-team action when Watford travel to Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Netherlands international has been sidelined since undergoing knee surgery in September but stepped up his recovery last week by featuring as Watford's Under-23 side beat Coventry 3-1.
Janmaat now feels he is ready to return to first-team action and is hoping to get some minutes under his belt when the Hornets travel to the King Power Stadium this weekend.
"It's good to be back," he told the club website. "It was my decision to play. I wanted to play here and get some minutes because it's important to be sharp and be ready for next week. I'm totally back now and feeling fine. Hopefully I'm involved next week."
Janmaat was Javi Gracia's undisputed first-choice right-back at the start of the season, but Kiko Femenia has performed well in his absence and the 29-year-old has acknowledged he faces a battle to earn his place back in the team.
"I think I had a good spell so it's a shame it happened," he added. "The whole team was playing great, we only lost one against Man United. It's been frustrating being out, but that's football. Sometimes you are a bit unlucky. Now I try to get back in the team."
