Loan star admits future in others' hands

4th April 2019, 16:06 by Simon Barlow

Watford's Dodi Lukebakio, impressing while on loan in Germany, admits his future is not in his own hands as he ponders next season.

The 21-year-old has put some early-season trouble at Fortuna Dusseldorf behind him to become a regular starter and the Bundesliga outfit hope to keep him for another year.

But as his season-long loan spell comes to it's end, the Belgium under-21 international does not know what the future holds.

"I can not say anything because it's not in my hands," Lukebakio replied when asked about his future this week.

Lukebakio has scored eight Bundesliga goals in 17 starts and a handful of substitute appearances while also adding four more goals in the cup.

Watford could recall the ex-Anderlecht star or elect to send him out for another season on loan, but there seems little point in that if he is ready for the Premier League.
