Midfielder says Watford have improved

21st November 2018, 08:54 by Simon Barlow

Abdoulaye Doucoure says the current Watford squad is the best he has been involved with since he arrived at Vicarage Road.

Doucoure, who joined Watford from Rennes in February 2016, believes the competition for places at the club is so hot this season it can only be good for head coach Javi Gracia.

"It is the strongest squad I have been in at Watford because you have a manager who is very stable and doesn't change a lot of things," said the Frenchman.

“I think that is good for the players and for him. Every player this year has competition because we have made some signings and all the players have improved.

"I think this is the strongest we have been."

Doucoure has not missed a single minute of Premier League action so far this season and has emerged as one of the stars of Gracia's team.
