Watford have no plans to sell Doucoure
Watford have no plans to sell midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure despite suggestions Chelsea are set to launch a deadline day bid.
French midfielder Doucoure has been a standout performer for the Hornets over recent seasons and he was heavily linked with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month, but they quickly moved on to other targets after it became clear Watford were not willing sell.
However, the Hornets' resolve looks set to be tested once again as Chelsea, who are believed to be in the market for a new midfielder, are reportedly lining up an 11th-hour bid.
With Watford keen to keep hold of the 26-year-old, it is likely only a big offer, in excess of £45million, from Chelsea would tempt them into considering selling one of their prized assets.
Doucoure has missed Watford's last three matches with a reported knee injury, although there are no suggestions that the problem has anything to do with the ongoing transfer speculation.
