Watford must continue to fight - Masina

24th April 2019, 15:43 by Bobbie Jackson

Adam Masina insists Watford can't afford to ease off as they look to try and finish the season in seventh spot.

The Hornets climbed back up to seventh on Tuesday courtesy of a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton, but they are just one point clear of Everton.

With three games left to play, the race for seventh is proving to be an exciting one as Watford, Everton, Leicester and Wolves look to try and secure a place in the Europa League.

Watford have the opportunity to dent Wolves' hopes of qualifying for Europe on Saturday when they clash at Vicarage Road.

It's a repeat of the FA Cup semi-final earlier this month, which Watford won 3-2 in extra time, and Masina has demanded a big performance.

"We need to improve on our mistakes, for sure, but this is part of football," Masina told the club's official website. "We need to work hard and try to avoid these situations.

"We need to get the three points [on Saturday] to achieve our goal of seventh place, so the Wolves game is an important one for us."
