Chambers not on Pardew's wishlist
West Brom boss Alan Pardew says Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is not on his list of potential replacements for Jonny Evans.
Albion fear losing Evans this month amid continued interest from the Gunners and Manchester City but when asked if the Northern Irishman was any closer to leaving the Hawthorns on Friday, Pardew said the situation had not changed.
The Baggies boss says he has started making contingency plans in case Evans does leave and rumours had suggested he could ask for Chambers as part of any deal with Arsenal for Evans.
Pardew says that is not the case, though, claiming Chambers does not feature on his shortlist.
"That name's not entered into my thinking, or names at Arsenal or Manchester City or Manchester United if I'm honest," he said.
"When there is an offer on the table we will exercise our plan, if the offer is acceptable to us."
The former Newcastle boss went on to say that he would need to sell before he could buy in January as he also seeks to improve his attacking options.
"The position at this football club financially is very, very tight," he added. "We might have to move a player out to bring players in. I'm saying we need to bring players in. We have to be on our guard for a bid of any player that might interest us."
