Fresh striker link for Hammers

11th April 2019, 13:28 by Nick Harris

As the search for a new striker continues, West Ham are being linked with a summer move for Fortuna Dusseldorf striker Benito Raman.

Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is going to be on the lookout for a striker come the summer as Andy Carroll is coming to the end of his contract and a new one looks unlikely.

Reports in Germany now claim that West Ham are one of the clubs keeping tabs on Raman as the Belgian has impressed for his side, who have struggled at the wrong end of the table, with 10 goals to his name.

West Ham are not alone, with both Arsenal and Everton also said to be monitoring the 24-year-old, who has netted four goals in his last five games.

The £15m-rated player is also keen to make a move to England, saying: "It's my goal to play at Premier League someday. I think it's the best league in the world."

It is still thought that Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez is the Hammers number one target but Raman is also said to be on the list.
