Hammers scout Championship defender
West Ham have been scouting Millwall right-back Mahlon Romeo but Rangers are understood to be keen to sign him in the summer.
The Scottish Premiership club are weighing up Romeo as a possible replacement for James Tavernier if he leaves Ibrox in the next transfer window, with the 23-year-old Lions defender becoming a free agent in June.
The Antigua and Barbuda international has done well this season, making 29 Championship starts for Neil Harris' side, and impressed in Millwall's FA Cup win over Everton in January.
Rangers are expecting to receive bids for Tavernier in the next transfer window and, although he is contracted to Ibrox through to 2022, they could cash in.
Romeo, who is the son of Soul II Soul frontman Jazzie B, started his career in the Arsenal academy but has made his name at Millwall, where he has racked up more than 100 appearances.
The Express claim other Championship are keeping tabs on him, while the Hammers have also had him scouted.
