Hernandez - West Ham cannot take any team lightly
Javier Hernandez says West Ham must approach every game in the same way if they want to finish in the top-seven of the Premier League.
The Hammers currently sit ninth in the top-flight standings, five points adrift of seventh-placed Wolves and they missed a great opportunity to close the gap on the top seven following their 2-0 defeat at struggling Cardiff on Saturday.
Manuel Pellegrini's side have also lost against the likes Burnley and Bournemouth since Christmas and Mexico international Hernandez feels a change in mentality is needed when they play against teams lower down the Premier League table.
"That mindset needs to change in this club and we need to do that between now and the end of the season and, if we can do that, we can still get seventh position," Hernandez told the club website.
"When you want to be in Europe, you need to think like the top clubs and need to have that consistency.
"You don’t need to think that if you are playing against teams who are fighting relegation that it will be a bit easier or that, if you’re playing against a top club you have nothing to lose."
West Ham will welcome bottom club Huddersfield to the London Stadium in their next match on Saturday.
